There is a word that's music to my ears. That is the word is Inclusion. Inclusion means including everyone. That means including persons with a disability. My wife and I believe that all persons with a disability, regardless of the type or severity, can live in the community when they receive the necessary "supports and services".

Institutions have seen their day. In Canada, we no longer have any orphanages or residential schools. The Canadian government has recently apologized to the aboriginal community for all of the abuse that took place behind the institution walls. Nobody should be locked-up and segregated from the rest of society simply because they were born different. That's wrong! Canada believes in diversity. Diversity includes persons with disabilities. Persons with disabilities don't want any pity nor do we want charity. All that we ask for is to be treated the same as anyone else, with the same rights and responsibilities. That's all.
